Site planning before the quotation
Share building dimensions, camera locations, internet quality, backup-power expectations and approximate required recording days. Hard-drive sizing depends on the actual codec, bitrate, frame rate, scene complexity and recording schedule. Cable quantities should be based on surveyed routes rather than a fixed estimate.
Project-specific configuration checks
Plan camera VLANs and verify NVR incoming bandwidth as well as channel count. Eight IP cameras at high bitrates may need different uplink and storage capacity from eight entry-level cameras.
Include the total PoE watt budget, cabinet cooling and realistic network cable routes in the quote. If future cameras are likely, check recorder spare channels and switch ports.
